black bird’s song
euphoria of tomorrow
that will never come
cold mud burying
summer’ s last verdancy
crane bird sings
bird’ s love song to spring
paths among drifting snow piles
shadow of cat

How, I wonder, does the blackbird know that tomorrow’s euphoria will never come?

Does and doesn’ t at the same time. I believe drug users don’ t really think either tomorrow will come or not but I guess on the back of their mind they know tomorrow might not…happen.

These are all wonderful, but I keep coming back to the first one. Maybe it’s ‘black bird singing in the dead of night’ that it’s now lodged in my ears. Thank you as always for sharing š

Thank you. The song….yes, must admit that was on the back of my mind while was writing the first one, too. š

Oh, we wouldn’t want that bell to be there…the cat needs his privacy after all! š

The second one, though dark is brilliant. And the sadness of the first. I think your haiku today are among the best I’ve seen from you.
