Everything was up to me now.
“You’ll know which one it is when you lay eyes on it.” He’d said urgently, “we had to bury them somewhere quickly that was recently dug.”
The conversation was cut: ”The caller you are trying to reach…”
I had to do it today or it might be too late. The heist had gone well, but they were still in hiding.
Biting my nails, I scanned the house ads in the dusty window…one, another…until YES! I couldn’t stop smiling…he knew how much I hated those clinically white fences…
“Could you prepare the sales documents?”
“Now ma’am?”
“Now! Immediately!”

Clinically white is a fabulous way to describe the contrast of the fence to the dilapidated old barn. Your story was clever.

I’m curious about what was heisted, since you said “them”. In fact, I first thought that people had been buried and couldn’t figure out why they wanted to buy the house. 🙂 I’ll be the realtor was thrilled!

i too like (and hate) clinically white — i mean i like the term you used, captured it perfectly but i hate the color. i dislike most things clinical, actually ^^ i like that she was able to think fast about the hiding place but leaves me with a sense of fear, i don’t think she’d be able to hide for long… good one ^^

Disliking most things clinical – I am with you there 🙂 Yes, sometimes the fast, sudden thoughts and ideas are the best ones, though not always working in the long run.
Thank you, KZ.

Was he looking for a house to bury someone from the heist? A little confusing to me.
