Their creativity and imagination, need and wish to explore and experiment, their beautiful open minds… As you can see, I couldn’ t resist sharing a bit from what has been created by 6 year old artists.

Part of my response to your comment on my blog was ” It was a childlike moment of wonderment that I felt when I saw these beautiful birds. Nice to know I can still be moved by things that are new to me.” Now maybe I need to act on those moments more. These works are a reflection of how I felt, and we all can feel, even as adults. Please note I did not say grownups 🙂

For quite some time I have had this thought of putting a post together with at least a bit of the art I have seen and I am glad finally got to it. Children do find magic in everything because they know where to search. A good thing to learn to do it again… 🙂

Children are so creative and full of imagination. And then they start going to school and, bit by bit, many lose their creativity… A while ago I read a short story about a boy who painted beautiful colouful flowers, but his teacher’s instructions were to paint a red rose. At the next lesson they were supposed to make a plate out of clay. His was far better than the one his teacher had made. So he made another one similar to his teacher’s. When he moved to another school, he got an open-minded teacher who encouraged children’s creativity, but, by then, he had lost the ability to create anything without a clear instruction. I just wish there were more teachers who would let children develop and grow and be themselves.

I think P.Picasso has said that we are all artists in childhood but not eveyone is able to keep being an artist also when getting older. Or something very close to this :). Yes, their creativity is amazing – innocent and so open, not afraid to just go for it and see what the result will be. And the result…yes, very often leaves others speechless. 🙂

Well, Tatsat, there’ re “your things” and then there’ re the ones that are…”not your things”! And even a year sabbatical might not be helpful 😀

This is a powerful slide show – not only does it remind us that the creative spirit begins in the natural visual expressions of the young but it also makes us aware that there are teachers out there who value the creative arts and inspire their students with passion. Art is given short shrift in many educational establishments but this post gives me hope. Thank you Ese for this inspiring art…

There’s so much wish and need to search and find, to develop in those young hearts&minds, so many questions to find answers on… And it’s a true blessing they meet teachers who can help those flowers to blossom. Not cut and turn into something they want to see but to support and let them grow. I am happy I could share their art.
