You make kingdoms and castles on your own. /S.Jenkins/
The Halászbástya or Fisherman’s Bastion in Budapest, Hungary – designed and built between 1895 and 1902 on the plans of Frigyes Schulek. This is one of the towers of the Bastion that to me looks like a small castle itself.
Turaidas pils or Turaida Castle – a medieval castle built in 1214 according to directions given by Albert, archibishop of Riga. Sigulda, Latvia
Царевец or Tsarevets is a medieval fortress located in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. The construction of the Bulgarian stronghold was begun in 12th century.
Looks like a castle, doesn’ t it? Torre de Belém or Belém Tower – built by order of the King Dom Manuel I, between 1514 and 1520. Lisbon, Portugal
Palácio Nacional da Pena – the Pena National Palace represents one of the best expressions in the world of 19th-century architectural Romanticism. Sintra, Portugal
Do not worry if you have built your castles in the air. They are where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. /H.D.Thoreau/

Very well captured these photos with lot of atmosphere – I believe they are much more charming and inspiring now than at the time they were built – especially the dungeon…. 🙂 😉
The last quote (H.D.Thoreau) in my eyes a very wise one… 🙂
