Carpe Diem Haiku Special *Pilgrimage to Santiago De Compostela*

There is no featured haiku poet this month on Carpe Diem Special – we will be inspired by “The Pilgrimage” of Paulo Coelho instead. The novel is a recollection of Paulo’s experiences as he made his way across northern Spain on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. “It is the road that teaches us the best way to get there, and the road enriches us as we walk its length.”

Writing these haiku, I tried to stay close to the mood and spirit of the book:

* * *
between mountain curves
path to discovery
every step counts

* * *
sunlit ruins
wind soothes rugged stones
grain of sand in eye

* * *
glimpsing memories
heart heavier than backpack
i carry on

* * *

Plato believed an opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance. Fancy to share yours?
