Carpe Diem Haiku *Use That Quote ‘Buddha’*

“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared” – this it the quote by Buddha our Carpe Diem host Chèvrefeuille has chosen to inspire us to write haiku of our own. Here’ re mine:

slow dance
between light and shadows
flickering flame

burning
with each melting droplet

  1. What a romance in your first haiku Ese so in tune with the essence of Buddha’s quote in which (in a deeper layer) love is so clear. Your second haiku however is my favorite, because of its simplicity in the scene. Thank you for sharing.

  2. both of these are wonderful. they have such depth. I see the first as an allusion to the light and darkness in the self. the second delivers such hope. and on top of that (and not least) they are beautiful descriptions of physical reality
