This week’ s inspiration on Carpe Diem Special is another haiku, written by Shiba Sonome:
* * *
longing for someone
I sit by the gate and draw
eyebrows on a melon
* * *
Here’ s my attempt to stay close to the same mood and spirit:
* * *
ripening plums
I paint my toenails
in his favourite hue
* * *
I like this, can see the color and feel her loneliness.

I just love the last one… even if “he” is not around, “she” still thinks of those tiny little things that would make him happy… so much longing there…
