That first set of steps looks very steep Ese. Where is it?

It is in Bulgaria, outskirts of Shumen – steps go all the way down to …the city (if somebody feels motivated to walk :). )

I hate descents simply because you somehow have to ascend as high. Beautiful pictures.

That first one looks lovely but makes my legs tired just looking at it. 🙂 My favorite is the second.

Brilliant photos for this challeneg, Ese. I really like the last one. Steep, dark, what a mystery down there. Going down might be easy, going up and reaching up and out is always challenging – we have to defy gravity and the naysayers around us 🙂

Shumen and Madara… I can tell the first two immediately 🙂 I have visited Madara twice but those stairs were always busy with people, I could never take a picture like yours… perfect symmetry and repetition… LOVE it 🙂

🙂 Yes! Once seen, those two are rather memorable – especially if climbed (the ones in Madara, not Shumen – that would have been asked too much from me!). Thank you, Alexandra – your comments are always enjoyed and appreciated.
