Our inspiration on Carpe Diem Special this week is a tanka, written by a well-known haiku poetess Fuyuko Tomita:
* * *
Actors we all are, she said
mirrors to reflect
each other
We all leave the stage, she said
and left a smile in mine
* * *
Here’ s my attempt to stay close to the same mood and spirit:
* * *
piercing silence
among shards of broken plates
the same drama
played all over again
for the last time
* * *
Both haiku’s reflect and indeed play the same thought again and again, if I may say that? 🙂

You captured the feeling for sure. Days of broken plates (or glasses) happened mostly by my dropping on hard tiled floors or the sink. I seem to have a better handle to dishes nowadays.

I am interpreting this in a somber mood…but perhaps I get jaded with my work…very thought provoking and I like that.
