Carpe Diem Haiku *Buson “a glimpse of dawn”*

Our source of inspiration on Carpe Diem today is Yosa Buson’ s very last haiku (his  Jisei):

* * *
the night almost past
through the white plum blossoms
a glimpse of dawn

* * *

I wrote mine, trying to stay close to the same mood and spirit:

* * *
fleeting silhouette
in the end of empty street
just the light of lantern

* * *

Carpe Diem Haiku *Buson “on the shortcut path”*

Today on Carpe Diem our source of inspiration is another haiku, written by Yosa Buson:

* * *
on the shortcut path,
stepping through water to cross the meadow
in the summer rains.

* * *

My mind wandered in various directions, still…I tried to stay close to the same mood:

* * *
lone traveler
his home is everywhere
along the path

* * *
weary fly
trapped in lacing of spider web
-the last shortcut

* * *
